The HSE Manager will provide oversight of all business operations and activities in the project.
It is expected that the HSE Manager will be an acknowledged technical leader in their field, fostering an active HSE community that enhances AtkinsRéalis’ reputation for excellence by supporting innovation and cross-business collaboration, defining best practice, and championing new approaches.
As well as being an acknowledged technical leader at a technical and operational level, the HSE Manager will actively develop relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field along with professional certifications in HSE management
12+ years of experience in health, safety, and environmental management, with progressively increasing responsibility. Experience in Oil & Gas or LPG systems is mandatory
UAE (preferably Abu Dhbai ) experience is mandatory
Key responsibilities
The HSE Manager will have the following responsibilities:
Day-to-day functions
Contribute to the development of the UAE HSE strategy, implement assigned priorities, and report progress.
Support project teams with resolution of technical assurance issues.
Ensure that all incidents are reported in accordance with BlueBook requirements, ensure that investigations are completed, and share lessons learned.
Support the logistics team in maintaining oversight of employee driving safety arrangements.
Undertake HSE inspections of hotels to ensure they meet AtkinsRéalis requirements prior to staff staying.
Provide support for company provided accommodation ensuring that accommodation standards are understood.
Audit and inspect company provided accommodation as required.
Act as an internal focal point and subject matter expert for all technical and health, safety related matters in the project.
Undertake HSE inspections and audits for AtkinsRéalis offices and sites as required.
Drive implementation of BlueBook standards.
Support project leaders to ensure they and their teams fully understand all HSE requirements.
Work and act as an ambassador for the AtkinsRéalis values taking opportunities to promote good practice.
Ensure that monthly reporting is carried out in accordance with AtkinsRéalis procedures, acting as a focal point to collate information for various business unit reports.
Support senior operational management within the project covered in conducting leadership tours and providing advice and support on HSE.
People development
Mentor and otherwise assist in the development of HSW personnel, as required.
Develop UAE nationals interest in HSE and providing support to increase their awareness and understanding of AtkinsRéalis HSE requirements.
Stakeholder management
Work closely with operational management within AtkinsRéalis to promote core HSE values through attendance at leadership team meetings, operational meetings, workshops and training.
Position himself / herself as a significant industry contributor on safety matters, through public speaking engagements and media publications.
Work closely with regulatory authorities (municipalities and ministries), promoting AtkinsRéalis as an industry leader in HSE.
