Due to our continuing expansion we currently have an opportunity for a Highways Senior Engineer on multi-disciplinary offshore executed projects from Gurgaon, India.

Working in a multidisciplinary team of designers and engineers providing a professional design service to our clients, this is an ideal opportunity for individuals looking to develop their international experience with a world renowned consultant.

Requirements Essential:

• Graduate degree in Civil Engineering from an institute of repute.
• Minimum 12 years experience, of which at least 8 years should be in Highways design.
• Experience in leading a team of engineers and technicians.
• Experience in highways engineering software and MS-Office.
• Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with colleagues, seniors, team members and clients.
• Experience of technical leadership for major highway projects at feasibility and detailed design stages.
• Ability to fully understand, explain, present and solve complex technical problems for technical and non-technical audiences.
• In depth knowledge of British and AASHTO standards.

Desirable:

• Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• UK ICE Chartered Engineer
• Affiliation with professional bodies or professional accreditation (ICE, IHT etc…).
• Experience in highways engineering software such as MX Roads; Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD or Microstation.
• Experience of working on construction sites.
• Experience in working on international projects.
• Experience with working for both central and local government clients
• Familiarity with long corridor working.
• Understanding of how to develop and deliver teaching material.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 10-15 engineers and technicians.
• Produce design solutions from outline briefs, correctly interpret data and effectively communicate to others.
• Check design and assessment calculations and review detailed drawings.
• Ensure delivery of project in accordance with to quality, timescales and budget.
• Provide technical leadership and develop capabilities of the team.
• Play a major role in the development of technical skills and in providing technical guidance to the team.
• Actively contribute to technical promotion and in writing effective sections of technical reports.
• Ensure technical competencies of self and team are kept up to date.
• Liaise and interact with Atkins businesses in the UK.
• Apply Atkins Quality, Safety & Environmental (QSE) standards and Business Management System (BMS).
