There are many routes to a successful career and an apprenticeship is one of them. It will give you the foundations you need to progress through the engineering profession and allow you to earn money while you learn. At Atkins, most of our apprentices join us for an initial two to four year period. But we encourage you to think of this as just the start of your journey, as there are many other opportunities on offer.
We provide two levels of apprenticeship at Atkins in the UK:
- Advanced Apprenticeships - Level 3 (equivalent to 2 A-levels)
- Higher Apprenticeships - Level 4 and above (equivalent to a higher education certificate, higher education diploma or a foundation degree)
- Degree Apprenticeship - Level 6 (equivalent to a bachelor degree)
Both options give you an alternative to university. You’ll be a paid, full time, permanent member of our team. And training will be carried out by accredited providers, with the curriculum forming part of the National Apprenticeship Service Framework. With hard work and dedication over the period of your apprenticeship you’ll achieve an institutionally recognised qualification.
We know that our people are the key to our success so we want our apprentices to make the most of the opportunities available to them. We’ll give you the chance to explore our different disciplines, projects, teams and locations. That way, you’ll have the information you need to take your career in whatever direction you want it to go in.
