Apprentices FAQ's

1) Do you offer work experience?

We offer a variety of summer and 12 month placements for undergraduates which are advertised online. You can browse our placement page for further details.

Dependent on your circumstances we also offer a range of apprenticeship opportunities from BTEC Level 3 upwards, for further details you can take a look on our apprenticeship page

2) What do I do if I have a disability or learning difference which may affect my performance during the selection process?

You have the opportunity to disclose any disability or learning difference you may have on your application form. We also encourage you to inform the apprentice team prior to attending an assessment, therefore we can make any appropriate arrangements for you at the interview stage and assessment centre should you be successful at these stages.  We aim to ensure the candidate journey is as user friendly as possible and we strive to be as inclusive as possible. For further information or to inform us of any adjustments, please contact us on apprenticeships@atkinsglobal.com or 0121 483 5089.

3) How do I apply?

Please view our apprenticeship roles online where you are able to review the job descriptions before starting your online registration and application form with us.

4) What do I do if I applied last year?

Due to a new recruitment system implementation this year, you will be required to register and apply again.  We would recommend reviewing the job descriptions before applying.   Please do not use the previous log in button (top right comer) as this will no longer be valid.

5) What happens after I receive an offer from Atkins?

Upon receiving a verbal offer from us you will be issued with log in details to access your onboarding account area. Here you will be able to view your contract and other documents electronically. Please make sure you use the log in details we provide you with and not the ones you initially created when you first applied to us as our onboarding portal is on a separate system. You will also be required to enrol at college once you have received your offer, the college will be in contact with you in due course to arrange your registration.

6) When will I know if I have been successful?

Before you leave the assessment centre we will let you know when you can expect to hear from us. We’ll contact you by phone or email.
