Security Engineer

The Security Engineer is a hands-on technology role in the team responsible for the security of our services. Working within a dedicated function you will provide support in resolving incidents, delivering on projects, and enhancing service security.

This role would be suited to an individual who has experience with cyber security in an enterprise environment, someone who has proven experience troubleshooting and dealing with security incidents and designing security architectures.

We are looking for someone who can be dynamic and a real problem solver.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Security troubleshooting issues and enhancing performance.
  • Design and implementation of new requirements and technology improvements.
  • Managing the technology lifecycle.
  • Writing knowledgebase documentation, processes and assisting team members.

Experience Required:

  • Candidate must have experience in network support in a corporate enterprise.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Security Centre and supporting technologies.
  • Knowledge of network and firewall security.
  • Knowledge of endpoint security best practice and identity security.
  • Experience in the use of SIEM and SOAR technologies.

Essential Technical Requirements:

We would expect you to have hands-on experience with:

  • Experience of Azure Security Centre.
  • Experience of security monitoring and response.
  • Understanding of firewall technologies and network security.
  • Conducting security investigations across multiple technologies and platforms.
  • Liaising with service platform providers.

Behavioural Competencies:

  • Proven experience of delivering process efficiencies and improvements.
  • Ability to build and maintain efficient working relationships with local and remote teams.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and complete your own work, whilst remaining a team player.
  • Willingness to engage with and work in other technologies.

Additional Information: 

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance.  If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
