EDPM is the Engineering, Design & Project Management sector of SNC-Lavalin. We plan, design and enable the delivery of complex projects and major programmes across transportation, energy and infrastructure. Primarily made up of Atkins, including Faithful+Gould, we push boundaries and create value as trusted advisors to our clients and partners.
SNCL Atkins currently have an opportunity for a AP Ledger Management - Senior Transaction Assistant in our Worcester office.
To accurately investigate, prepare and process AP Ledger adjustments assisting in the overall AP Ledger management and resolution of internal errors made.
To investigate and resolve disputes with suppliers relating to non-payment of invoices.
Responsible to:
AP Support Manager. AP Processing Manager
Key Relationships:
Internal – All SSF based teams and Business Unit contacts.
External – Atkins’s Suppliers and Customers.
Job Description:
• To effectively oversee their own workload on a day to day basis ensuring all processes are adequately followed.
• To accurately investigate, prepare and process AP Ledger adjustments such as deletions, internal invoices/credit notes and journals.
• To ensure adequate back up information is provided, and cover sheets are completed for all adjustments in accordance with internal audit requirements.
• To accurately complete zero payment runs, voids and negative payments in accordance with agreed standards.
• To arrange/approve corrections (subject to approval limits) raised by SSF staff.
• To accurately complete necessary adjustments regarding staff debt issues in accordance with agreed standards.
• To investigate documents highlighted via the duplicate checking process
• To review daily correspondence in respect of final notices/overdue/final demands and ensure payments are made as appropriate.
• To review weekly payment runs, checking for duplicates and compliance.
• To review correspondence relating to companies in administration/receivership and carry out appropriate actions.
• To investigate future dated invoices
• To manage supplier and staff debit balances
• To allocate cash from suppliers/staff members in JD Edwards
• To review and action integrity reports as appropriate
• To build and maintain up to date knowledge of the Atkins Business.
• To build strong working relationships with other areas within Accounts Payable.
• To retrieve information/electronic documents by accessing and interrogating computer systems.
• To maintain Customer Focus by following procedures and controls.
• To cover selected Team Leaders duties in his absence.
Technical and Professional Experience
• Excel – intermediate level to maintain excel databases and reports which include advanced formulas.
• Word – intermediate level to produce written communication.
• Outlook – ability to organise, respond to and archive incoming messages.
• Experience working in a Customer Focused environment.
• Experience working in an Accounts Payable environment.
• Ability to interpret Accounts Systems and processes.

• Information seeking – to be persistent and thorough when investigating errors and making the correct decisions with regards to what action is required.

• Organising – to prioritise workload to achieve daily tasks and ensure Service Level Agreements are met.
• Team worker – willingly co-operate and support all team members, appreciate being part of a wider SSF team.
• Initiative – to manage own workload and identify, own and follow problems through to resolution.
