The Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology (ADS&T) Division within Atkins offers a range of engineering, technical and strategic advisory services to a wide breadth of markets and clients.

Asset Management requires the combined application of business operations, strategy, people management, change management, accounting/finance, risk management and information systems all coordinated to realise maximum value from physical assets. Government and industry look to us for independent and unbiased advice and our team are seeing more and more demand for this expertise.

We are strengthening the Asset Management consulting team within ADS&T to meet this increasing market demand for Strategic Asset Management, Digital Asset Management and BIM advisory services. To this end, we are seeking Asset Management professionals to contribute to growing the business across aerospace, defence and wider markets.

As part of our advisory services offering we are seeking an Asset Management Lead Consultant to provide leadership in the development of asset management service offerings for clients.

Key Responsibilities:
• Development of the ADS&T asset management, digital and BIM growth strategy.
• Provide a vision of future needs to direct the development of capability and capacity for a suite of asset management service offerings.
• Engage with other parts of ADS&T to promote a holistic and strategic approach to asset management with our clients including people, process, technology and technical service offerings.
• Build sustainable relationships with customers in an account management role, developing future business opportunities, influencing and managing these through to new work.
• Work with internal and external clients to understand their needs and form compelling proposals for both digital and advisory services.
• Design and deliver sustainable and innovative improvements to the people, process and technical elements of our client’s businesses.
• Management of significant assignments with responsibilities for understanding customer requirements, developing proposals (technical and commercial), planning & management of activities.
• Leadership of major asset management assignments for clients.
• Assurance of work undertaken by project teams.
• Bid management and or support to complex bids.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:
• Demonstrated experience and track record in leading and growing service offerings in an asset management consulting environment.
• Strong strategic and commercial acumen with experience and understanding of the cost of delivery alongside delivering value for our clients and ADS&T.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills commensurate with the role, including the preparation and presentation of proposals to both internal and external customers.
• Strong interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Team player with excellent people management skills and the ability work autonomously leading multidisciplinary teams in a consulting environment.
• A supportive and encouraging approach to identifying and nurturing talent.
• Proven track record in applying asset management principles to improve business performance and addressing client challenges.
• An organised, methodological and creative approach to problem solving and decision-making.
• Experience in leading robust business benefits led strategies, improvement programmes and change management methodologies (people, processes, technology and technical).
• Knowledge of the Defence and Aerospace markets and experience of working across a number of industry sectors and markets.

Requirements and Qualifications:
• A recognised, credible profile within the Asset Management professional community.
• Degree or equivalent in a business management or other relevant discipline.
• Membership of an appropriate professional body.

You are required to be flexible in terms of work location and travel. If deployed at client site you should be geographically mobile and be prepared to work on-site anywhere in the UK.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
