Shaping the future of Atkins role in Asset Management in the water sector

The Asset Management Strategy Director is responsible for setting our longer term strategic direction in asset management for the water sector, supporting delivery of our growth aspirations and annual targets in the Water Sector. This role presents a unique opportunity to play a leading role in building and executing Atkins’ plan for the future, driving growth in our asset management business and leading innovation in digital Asset Management (dAM) services for our clients. Working collaboratively across the different divisions within Atkins and SNCL your role will be to develop relationships with our key clients, driving the growth and development of technical services to meet our clients’ future needs and to leverage growth in new revenue streams.

Infrastructure in Atkins is an organisation of 3,000 people with circa £300m annual turnover, delivering a wide portfolio of projects ranging from strategic advice through to large EPC schemes to our targeted markets sectors. Our water business covers the UK water sector, International water where we export our water expertise and the UK Water Agencies including the EA, Defra, WaterUK and UKWIR.



Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the transformation of our asset management services, developing and Implementing a long-term market strategy that helps positions Atkins as the leading provider of asset management services in the UK and allows us to shape the future of the water sector.
• Build a leading presence in Asset Management service provision for our clients, driving growth in market share, identifying and engaging with new target clients, developing brand and reputation, stimulating the market with insights, thought leadership and innovation.
• Development of key senior stakeholder relationships by getting close to the heart of our clients, building on existing relationships and creating new ones to maximise the opportunities for Atkins and support the re-shaping of the market.
• Be an ambassador for the business; attending and speaking at relevant industry events, developing alliances and partnerships and generally leveraging opportunities to build greater awareness of Atkins and improve our standing and reputation.

Requirements:

• A recognised and well-networked profile in Asset Management within the UK water sector.
• Deep domain knowledge and track record for driving innovation in asset management, strategy and investment planning.
• Deep understanding of the regulatory environment that our clients operate within and an ability to contribute and lead assurance and due diligence for our clients.
• Cross-sector skills and expertise from working across infrastructure sectors e.g. rail, highways, airports, ports and water.
• Excellent networker, able to work effectively in a matrix environment.
• Commercial acumen with experience and understanding of the cost of delivery alongside delivering value for our clients and Atkins.
• Strong influencing skills negotiating skills that have led to demonstrable results.
• Entrepreneurial mind-set, with the energy and motivation to drive successful growth of the business.
• A supportive and encouraging approach to identifying and nurturing talent.
• Ability to develop and execute further growth strategies.
• Ability to understand and describe how solutions and features can address the business issues customers are facing.
