As part of our continued growth we are seeking a Asset Management Team Leader (Future Signalling Systems).

The purpose of Future Signalling Systems (FSS) is to transform SNC-Lavalin’s ATKINS existing Signalling and Telecoms (S&T) business through:
•Strengthening Signalling and Control Systems Technology Development and Deployment Capabilities
•Securing Future Signalling Interlocking and Control Technology Supply
•Developing Compelling and Compliant Digital Railway ERTMS Solutions
•Creating Technology Whole Lifecycle Management Services

FSS will deliver through a range of approaches including of in-house technology development, organic growth, partnering and supply chain collaboration and acquisitions. The aim is for FSS to drive sustainable growth of SNC-Lavalin Atkins’ S&T business from current revenues of ~£60m/pa to >£250m/pa within the next 15 years.
Working for the FSS Technology Director the FSS Asset Management Team Leader will be an instrumental part of this crucial business transformation and technology management initiative.
The FSS Asset Management Team Leader will be responsible for planning, developing and delivering the whole life asset management and in-service support solutions for FSS technologies.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the FSS Technology Director the post holder will:

1. Undertake whole life and in-service activities and functions required to support the FSS Strategic Plan, including:
o Asset Management Planning
o Supporting clients with Authority to Place into Service (APIS) and Entry Into Service (EIS) processes
o Undertaking the preparation of operations and maintenance documentation for FSS assets and equipment
o Undertaking operations and maintenance staff training
o Undertaking RAMS engineering and reliability growth management
o Managig spares, repairs and warranty processes
o Managing software bug fixes, systems upgrades and configuration states
o Managing equipment obsolescence
o Providing in service technical support
o Undertaking FSS systems condition monitoring and maintenance support services and solutions
2. Work with the FSS Business Director, FSS Programme Director and FSS Technology Director to establish and deliver strategies and plans for growing FSS’s Asset Management delivery capabilities
3. Develop and manage an FSS Asset Management processes tools and systems in accordance with a defined FSS Asset Management Plan
4. Act as the Technical Authority and owner for the Atkins Signalling Method (ASM) Asset Management Manual
5. Work with the FSS Chief Systems Architect to establish system architecture solutions that address needs for increasing whole lifecycle operability, performance, resilience and value
6. Work with the FSS Technology Director, FSS Business Manager and wider FSS team to develop a resilient, agile, scalable and high performing supply chain for the delivery of whole lifecycle asset management activities that meet the FSS Strategic Plan
7. Collaborate with SNC-Lavalin’s strategic partners to target, bid, win and deliver ElectroLogIXS and other FSS technology related projects
8. Work with SNC-Lavalin’s Digital Railway consultancy practice to share information, knowledge, expertise and resources across a wide range of projects
9. Liaise with clients and other key industry stakeholders as required by the FSS Business Director, S&T Client Director and Digital Rail Client Director



Requirements
• People leadership and development
• Functional team line management for up to 10 people
• Establishing a market leading whole lifecycle asset management capability for the UK signalling and control systems market
• Delivery of whole lifecycle asset management services within a competitive commercial context
• Delivery of post-project support services for modern signalling, control and telecoms systems, Digital Railway solutions and/or ERTMS technologies
• Collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders
• Developing asset management solutions in accordance with industry accepted engineering and systems safety standards and processes such as TSI, CSM, ROGS
• Familiarity with ISO 55000 and related international asset management standards
• Familiarity with managing technology lifecycles in accordance with BS EN 501XX family or international standards
• Managing technology led organisation change and business transformation through challenging accepted norms and driving innovation and continuous improvement

The Individual
• A strong engineering and technology pedigree with a track record for the successful delivery of railway signalling/control systems
• Experience of railway signalling and control systems product development within a OEM context highly preferred
• A Batchelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering or technology related field with chartered status preferred
• Experience of managing whole lifecycle support/management activities for large, complex technology systems assets
• Experienced in establishing, growing and managing engineering/asset management functional teams of up to 20 people
• Experience of managing a combination of internal resources and supply chain to deliver successful outcomes
• Existing strong relationships with existing industry stakeholders including key influencers and leaders within Network Rail and other key rail industry stakeholder organisations
• Committed to organisational learning, change and continuous improvement
• Strong collaborative working skills

Key Measures
• Effective whole life asset management capabilities that act as a competitive advantage to SNC-Lavalin when bidding railways signalling and control systems contracts
• Positive economic returns on service provided, that increase the overall profitability of the Signalling and Telecoms sub-market
• An organisation and wider supply chain network that this scalable, flexible, agile and resilient
• Demonstrable progress in whole life asset management capability growth against a defined scale and criteria
• On time and budget delivery against the FSS Asset Management Plan
• Engagement and contribution towards global/corporate level Digital Engineering knowledge networks and initiatives
