Graduate/Assistant Engineer - Edinburgh

Our Networks and Drainage team is one of the largest in the UK with clients including high-profile utility companies, local authorities and independent businesses.


We are currently looking for an ambitious Graduate / Assistant Engineer to join our dynamic Water Infrastructure team in Edinburgh.
 

Skills:

  • Due to the nature of the role you must have good communication skills, be interested in and have knowledge of development water distribution infrastructure as well as holding a related Degree such as Civil Engineering or Science.
  • You should be interested in progressing towards attainment of a recognized professional qualification (for which you will receive our support, mentoring and provision of training where required).
  • Experience in using hydraulic models for feasibility and design purposes would be highly advantageous.
  • As would experience in the use of GIS systems such as Mapinfo or ARGIS.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be working on the development of water distribution hydraulic modelling projects as part of a team as well as on individual assignments as required. This will include undertaking data analysis, as well as technical report writing and a proactive commitment to Health and Safety.
  • The role will require interacting with other design disciplines and stakeholders, as well as supporting the engagement of our digital initiatives.
  • Shaping the future of networks - this is our challenge. Join us and you’ll work with a variety of colleagues and clients to create innovative solutions to challenging projects.
  • Investigation and resolution of network issues.
  • Building and maintaining hydraulic models
  • Delivery of technical reports and hydraulic studies
