Assistant Engineer

Our Networks & Drainage Engineering team is one of the largest in the UK with clients that include utility companies, local authorities, MOD and independent businesses.
 
We are currently seeking an Assistant Engineer who could join our Epsom office and strengthen the delivery of our water infrastructure projects.


The successful individual will be looking to develop professionally and work towards chartered membership of an appropriate institution.  He/she will be motivated and will be able to demonstrate an ability to work closely with others in a variety of project roles.  
 
Qualifications
  • BSc/BEng Engineering (or related) degree or equivalent experience
 
Essential Criteria
  • Competent in using IT including Word, Excel, Power-point, emails and the Internet.
  • Able to produce technical reports in a clear and concise form
  • Able to communicate effectively with both colleagues and clients
  • Good presentational skills
  • Experience of AutoCAD would be advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence as travel to a variety of office and site locations is a requirement of this role
  • Must be eligible to work in the EU
 
Experience in following areas would also be advantageous:  
  • Working knowledge of GIS packages e.g. MapInfo or ArcGIS
  • Experience in using water modelling packages such as InfoWorks WS, InfoWater and EPANET
     
Responsibilities
  • Delivery of projects as part of a team as well as on individual assignments as required
  • Investigation and resolution of water infrastructure issues through the development of design solutions
  • Interacting with Clients and other stakeholders
  • Data analysis
  • Technical report writing
  • Provide support to site based Technicians
  • Proactive commitment to Health and Safety
