Asset management is one of Atkins priorities for growth, and Project Managers at senior and junior levels are required to support our existing portfolio of projects and provide capacity to grow the business and support future opportunities. The people we’re seeking to employ will enjoy contributing across a portfolio of consultancy projects and will thrive in a busy, innovative and challenging environment. Whatever your level of experience you’ll be a technically excellent project manager and will be equally happy presenting to a client or delivering projects back at the office.

These roles will involve working with road and rail clients in a range of projects related to asset management: from providing strategic direction to clients in defining and implementing their asset management policies, to using data and analysis tools develop works programmes at the tactical level. Our markets are national road and rail administrations, local authorities, and PPP organisations in the UK and overseas. The focus of the role will be project delivery, with some support activities including project bidding.

The roles will be located at our Birmingham office, and regular travel to other UK offices and occasionally overseas forms part of this role.

Responsibilities
• As an Assistant Project Manager you will be responsible for contributing to the delivery of a portfolio of asset management projects.
• Complying with company processes and policies, and ensuring adherence to safety, welfare, quality and environmental requirements.
• To establish & build relationships with key clients, suppliers, contractors & internal stakeholders.
• Supporting project bidding activities.


Requirements
• Experience of supporting the delivery of consultancy projects including experience working within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Well organised and confident, with enthusiasm for learning new skills and willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
• Able to establish and build relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a client facing environment, with good communication skills.
• Working towards Chartered professional status with an appropriate organisation.
• An excellent report writing ability.

Desirable
• Awareness of asset management approaches.
