Atkins’ Transportation is our centre of excellence for the design of highway and rail infrastructure projects. We aim to be the first choice designer for local and national highway authorities, Network Rail, contractors and developers. We are working on a number of high profile projects and frameworks nationwide, including Cambridge to Huntingdon A14 upgrade and Smart Motorways programme through the Collaborative Delivery Framework for Highways England, Cross Rail, Great Western Electrification Programme, HS2 and related projects.

The Rail business of Atkins is looking to recruit Assistant Project Managers to join our Project delivery practice delivering £ Multi-Million rail infrastructure projects, based in the Greater London area. The role will include managing experienced design and delivery teams in the South East. The role of Assistant Project Manager is to actively support the delivery teams and manage key client accounts to ensure Atkins remain as amongst the first choice of customers.

Our Project Delivery practice within our Transportation division provides support and guidance to the whole of Transportation in project management, project controls and quality and technical assurance. Project Delivery leads on our portfolio of major projects within both Strategic Rail & Highways. This includes functional leadership and standards for how we govern our projects.

Responsibilities
• Assisting the Project Manager to deliver major multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, delivering on time and to budget.
• To ensure Safety is maintained and promoted along with promoting the highest standards of safety at site.
• To establish & build relationships with key suppliers, contractors & internal stakeholders.
• In conjunction with the Procurement Manager, inviting tenders, selecting and making recommendations on all consultants and other external specialists necessary to facilitate the achievement of the project


Requirements
• Project management experience within complex projects including experience working within multi-disciplinary teams.
• Well organised and confident, with enthusiasm for learning new skills and willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
• Able to establish and build relationships with suppliers, client/contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Good communication skills
