Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a motivated individual to:
• Provide pre and post contract quantity surveying services on major projects including:
• Cost and budget control
• Manage change control process
• Prepare and Issue Early Warning Notices
• Assessing the impact of Compensation Events
• Produce financial reports
• Effective and efficient commercial administration of projects
•Plan, organise and control workload under supervision
• Provide a professional interface with other disciplines within Atkins and the client's organisations
• Ensure the quality and timeliness of service delivery to internal clients

 

To join us you’ll need:

• A degree in Quantity Surveying
• Working towards RICS membership or recently chartered
• Conversant in all aspects of quantity surveying
• Ability to prepare estimates under supervision,
• Ability to analyse and interpret commercial and technical project documentation
• Understanding of standard forms of contract, including NEC and ICE
• General understanding of the Transportation Sector and Construction methodology generally for rail and highways projects
• Good IT skills
• Strong communication skills and good stakeholder management ability
• Knowledge and understanding of the component parts of a project and overall construction costs
• Flexibility on being office or from time-to-time site based
• You will be flexible and adaptable and be willing to support colleagues from other disciplines such as Project Management, and thus broaden your experience
