We are seeking an Associate Chartered Structural Engineer into our Building Design Practice in London Euston or Epsom, Surrey.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Structural Design Engineer to work within an internationally renowned consultant, working on large scale multidiscipline projects. Successful applicants will join a forward thinking team, working in a collaborative environment, and will be given opportunities to make real contributions to major engineering projects

Salary Banding �55,000pa to �65,000pa

Requirements
  • Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Extensive experience of Structural Engineering Building Design and working on multi-discipline projects
  • Be a technically excellent engineer, with significant experience of engineering and delivery in a broad range of structure types and materials
  • The ability to translate this broad range of technical skills into imaginative ideas which enhance the quality of our designs
  • Proven experience on developing projects from concept to construction stage
  • Established skill and delivery in the design of concrete, steel, timber and masonry structures, and be familiar with current design standards and working practices
  • Practical experience of reinforced concrete design and RC detailing of complex reinforced concrete structures, to British Standards and preferably American codes
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage and work to budget and programme, to control costs and manage change control processes
  • Good working knowledge of relevant structural design software e.g. Robot, Staad Pro
  • Experience of working with, and managing, small focused project teams
  • Flexible attitude to both the type of work to be undertaken and the level of responsibility accepted
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Delivering multiple projects or parts of larger projects to completion, within cost budget and to programme
  • Ensuring the provision of efficient high quality structural engineering design
  • First point of contact for clients, contractors, design team and third parties
  • Offer support and guidance to more junior members of the team
  • Effectively manage own time which may be necessary if allocated to more than one project
  • Working with CAD Technicians to produce relevant structural information of the highest quality design engineers
  • Build client relationships and help identify business opportunities
  • Be a technical champion within the team
  • Deliver multiple projects or parts of larger projects to completion and within budget and to programme
  • Assist in managing the broader team through mentoring and training
