With a key focus on helping to win more work in this growing sector we require a Bid Manager to be based in London to help secure and deliver new work opportunities.

This role, which reports to Atkins’ Market Director for Cities and Development in the south east, has the prime responsibility for tracking and maintaining our pipeline of opportunities, managing bids, bringing together propositions, helping to write winning proposals and building our library of case studies and project sheets.

 Roles and Responsibilities
• Maintain regular communications with the Markets & also Practice Managers
• Monitor framework and other national opportunities portals, advise the Markets of potentially suitable opportunities to review
• Initial entry of opportunities onto CRM
• Initial set-up of igate entry
• Assist in compiling bids, incl. producing bid doc templates, answering ‘standard’ sections, suggesting relevant case studies, etc. Build and maintain client document list with version control
• Build and maintain bid team contacts list
• Build and maintain weekly bid team location sheet
• Maintain bid document library (SharePoint site)
• Chase up & compile proposed team org & CVs
• Set up and maintain bid team diary
• Organise bid team meetings / invites / agendas / minutes - action sheet
• Build and maintain bid team leave sheet
• Responsibility for junior team
• Organise all travel and hotels
• Responsible for supporting the bid manager in the management of the quality and commercial / pricing submission in line with the Shipley process
• Organises and diarises logistics of stage gate reviews with proposals / governance lead manager
• Close down bid opportunities with BM, feed BIAB and bid feedback process
• Assist in progressing Business Development material – discuss quality / style with graphics team and get an overview of consistency across Markets / disciplines

Bid Management Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Bid management and coordination
• Market and opportunity tracking and analysis support
• Bid writing and production
• Preparation of presentation material
• Building and maintaining the Cities and Development case study library

Requirements / Technical Competencies

Essential
• Successful track record of bid delivery and management
• Excellent written and presentation skills
• Expertise in MS Office Word and Powerpoint
• Competence in MS Office Excel and Project
• Experience of having participated in or managed the production of bids
• Ability to compile, summarise and clearly present large amounts of information

Desirable
• Knowledge of the regeneration and development markets in London and the south east
• Experience of having carried out market and opportunity analysis
• Engineering or other relevant degree
• Knowledge of Shipley bidding approach
• Experience of Miller Hyman account and opportunity management approach

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview
