BIM Lead - Architecture

Atkins Global Design Centre (GDC), India is looking for experienced BIM Architect who can work as BIM lead for property projects.

The BIM Lead Architecture assists the BIM Manager as a project team member, interacting with project stakeholders, architects, engineers to develop and analyse the virtual construction process in order to maximize construction efficiency, job cost savings, as well as enhance project documentation & delivery. 

General Responsibilities:

• Understand the Level 2 BIM processes and workflows.
• Lead the Architecture discipline’s BIM project delivery with a team of other BIM Architects, modellers etc.
• Assist BIM Manager in preparing BIM Guidelines for project specific requirements.
• Assist BIM Manager in training of project personnel in the use of BIM tools.
• Assist BIM Manager with planning and scheduling, assist in cost estimating, issue change orders, notices and revisions.

Create and Maintain BIM Models for Project Specific Requirements:

• Develop schematic and detailed level BIM models including interior and exterior architectural elements.
• Responsible as “Model Administrator” for assigned projects responsible for Architectural discipline’s model health.
• Identify conflicts, incomplete or ambiguous design information.
• Coordinate with BIM service providers and Subcontractors.
• Create new library components and maintain Architectural BIM Library.

Manage Model Change Control:

• Derive material quantities. 
• Update as-built and revised Building Information Model.
• Keep BIM revision log.
• Distribute new and revised models showing changes and RFI answers.

Quantity Take-off:

• Produce quantity reports per Client requirements.
• Develop the modelling schedule.
• Identify long lead items and integrate them into 4D simulations 

4D Schedules:

• Prepare 4D simulations.

Coordination:

• Use Navis-work for  Multi-Disciplinary Clash Detection. 
• Identify model constructability issues and propose solutions. 
• Attend and /or manage model coordination meetings and document project BIM meetings (write minutes).
• Coordinate models with internal and external stakeholders and Record coordination sign offs. 

Objectives and Goals to Measure Performance:

• Timely and accurate preparation of BIM models, shop drawings, etc.
• Maintain model health as per BIM Best Practices Guidelines.
• Provide weekly timesheets of BIM staff. 
• Demonstrate a deep interest in learning new skills. Software and knowledge.
• Positive attitude towards collaboration and knowledge sharing. 
• Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team. 
• Demonstrate effective communication skills. 
• Work with minimal supervision. 

Requirements

• A degree in Architecture.
• Must have 8 to 10 years of  advanced working knowledge and experience with the following software applications as well as typically used terminology, standards, and practices: Autodesk Revit, Navisworks.
• Must be able to demonstrate an intermediate to advanced level of knowledge and understanding of construction methods, processes, and systems.
• Must have knowledge and understanding of common construction terminology and nomenclature as well as various building types and systems.
• Ability to read and understand plans, specifications and BIM Execution Plans.
• Demonstrate effective written and verbal English language communication skills.
• Ability to use judgment, problem-solving ability, self-starting and ability to prioritize based on relevant factors.
