About Technology Enabled Services

Technology Enabled Services (TES) is a new group within Atkins that supports the global businesses to develop and deliver new services that are enabled by technology. Focusing initially on 5 client offerings (digital asset management, quality management, insight as a service, digital twin services, and project management office), our role is to drive the commercialisation of new tech enabled services by providing a shared service of technology experts and technology platform services to the global Atkin’s business.

About this role

We are looking for a business analyst who wants to work in the fast-paced, dynamic and exiting digital environment that we are building at Atkins through the Technology Enabled Services group.  The role will directly support the development of new technology platforms, and their usage by the external and internal customers.  This is a detail oriented, hands-on role that works across both the user community and the development team. 

Job location is flexible: UK or UAE

The role involves some amount of global travel.

Main Responsibilities

  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing business and product specifications
  • Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications
  • Writing improved procedures by identifying problems
  • Work closely with Solution managers and clients across geographies
  • Work with product and delivery teams to define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements; establishing project budget
  • Publish progress reports; recommend actions
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Elaborate on high level requirements to create detailed use cases
  • Work with Software development teams to explain software requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Work with Quality Assurance teams to review use cases and test cases.
  • Review a variety of areas including project plan, test plan, software design
  • Responsible for software UAT and release sign off
  • Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes
  • Software Release and Change management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer Science or Engineering
  • Experience working within an Agile software development team
  • Use case development and UML experience
  • Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive
  • Ability to work independently and with others
  • Extremely organized with strong time-management skills

Highly desirable

  • Microsoft Access and/or SQL experience strongly preferred
  • Construction or Design industry experience is preferred
  • Experience of working in a fast paced, start-up environment
  • Experience of civil engineering and infrastructure domain
  • Experience of working in a global organisation and with global customers.

Security Clearance: 
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
