CAD Technician (Mechanical) - Kenyan National

Atkins Kenya Business is looking for an experienced CAD Technician (Mechanical) for different assignments based in Nairobi, due to Visa constraints we are looking for Kenyan National.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Production of Engineering drawings
• Responsible for implementation and maintenance of drawing office standards
• Carry out detailing of engineering work related to the area of academic qualification including production of construction schedules.
• Customization of CAD software and standardization for drawings plotting.
• Carry out construction site supervision and management of project issues including reporting.
• Coordinate the activities of the construction teams to ensure quality of work and timely delivery of projects.
• Assist Engineers in preparation of CTR’s, drawing registration and estimating drawing requirements in bid preparation and design planning.
• Undertake the checking of drawings and other deliverables prior to issue.
• Carry out Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC), implement and ensure Quality Management System (QMS) is implemented on projects.
• May be assigned the role of an Inspector of Works (IOW) and/or Clerk of Works (COW) on projects.
• Any other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of “O” level academic qualification
• Diploma in the relevant Engineering Discipline

Required Experience

• 3-4 experience in the area of specialization and exposure to site work is an added advantage

Relevant Skills

• Use of computers and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications preferably Ms Excel, Ms Word and note pads.
• Possess expertise with recognised training in relevant engineering draughting software and applications such as AUTOCAD, CIVIL 3D, CADS RC, Revit etc.
• People skills including interpersonal, organizational, communication and time management skills
• Ability to read and understand engineering designs, architectural and engineering drawings
• Must possess knowledge of building materials and basic knowledge of construction technology and methods.
• Sufficient experience in detailing of engineering works.
