The role
The Security Intelligence and Government (SIG) market is seeking an experienced Client Director to work in it’s Counter Terrorism and Law Enforcement portfolio. This portfolio includes the National Crime Agency, Metropolitan Police, and Security and Counter Terrorism in the Home Office.
We are seeking somebody with a passion for working with our clients and the ability to deliver hands-on consultancy while building relationships at a senior level to support future sales.

The ideal candidate will have:
• Working experience of the UK Security and Counter Terrorism markets, preferably consulting to Law Enforcement industry
• A background in project delivery, preferably including Digital Transformation project
• Experience developing and maintaining relationships at a senior (C-Suite) level
• A team ethos, with the ability to community strategy and vision.
This role will be part of the Counter Terrorism & Law Enforcement (CT&LE) team, reporting to the CT&LE Client Director.

Key responsibilities
• Win Work - where the Client Director will personally lead on senior client relationships, opportunity creation, pipeline development and strategic bids
• Deliver Work - where the Client Director will act as the Programme Director for key assignments and create the environment to empower delivery staff to be successful.
• People Focus - where the Client Director will create an environment where all staff involved in delivering success for the account area feel engaged, involved and empowered to be successful.

Win Work
The Client Director is a visible and active leader of Win Work activity. They will spend most of their time with clients and client-facing teams creating opportunities and building a sales pipeline. They will ideally have existing relationships with senior CT&LE clients and experience in the consultancy industry.


Responsibilities include:
• Fostering a team ethos that is client and sales focussed to create opportunities with clients.
• Line management of Client Managers, where required
• Setting stretching targets for sales and pipeline growth
• Forming a deep understanding of our clients and their business, moving us up the buy-sell hierarchy to become a trusted partner
• Taking accountability for the quality of all bids in their given area
• Fostering an agile, client centric culture, where we work with clients collaboratively to develop new solutions
• Developing and owning senior client relationships - including C-Suite (3*) and SVP/MD (2*) levels
• Proactively gaining insight into our client’s strategic obstacles and opportunities to shape future opportunities for Atkins
• Building a pipeline of depth and quality that provides confidence over a 5-year period
• Utilising Win Work Management Information to inform decision making, priorities and communications, keeping the it up-to-date and accurate.


Deliver Work
The Client Director will have overall accountability for performance in their given area. They will act as the Programme Director for their most important clients and provide hands-on consultancy where appropriate. They will create a high performing delivery team and delegate accountability for operational elements. The Client Director will empower team members to organise and manage delivery, while maintaining overall responsibility.


Responsibilities include:
• Owning delivery in the eyes of our clients, being responsible for ensuring that client stakeholder management around our delivery is maintained and we deliver successfully to the client’s needs
• Where appropriate, providing hands-on delivery to clients in order to establish credibility and insights
• Acting as the Programme Director for some of our most important delivery assignments
• Delegation of accountabilities for delivery to client managers, programme managers or project managers
• Through the creation of an inclusive Account Team, understand the delivery pressures, challenges and opportunities presented through delivery of projects, such that client engagement is done with authority and insight
• Seeking out and providing client feedback, direction and context for the delivery teams, empowering their teams to action and implement changes
• Hold delivery teams to account for delivery, creating credibility, trust and repeat business through a client and outcome focus.


People Focus

Responsibilities include:
• Creating a high-performing account team, with clear delegated accountability for winning and delivery of work
• Communicating strategy to teams, developing their confidence and understanding
• Shortening communication lines, creating empowered and engaged teams
• Working with the senior colleagues across the division to create a successful business.


Location and Travel
We can be flexible with your base location, although our preference would be London. UK wide travel will be expected for this role.
