Client Manager - Mechanical Engineer

Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Miami Commercial/Industrial Business Unit as Client Manager – Mechanical Engineer.


MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE:

The selected candidate will lead and support multi-discipline design teams for a variety of project types with a strategic focus on private sector clients and projects. Will serve as project lead for varying types of project delivery methods including P3, DB, ILPD, other specific client methods and traditional delivery. The selected candidate will have demonstrated success in managing large multi-discipline projects and possess strong leadership and people/client skills. Candidate will also have experience serving as a senior consultant, leading, managing and providing guidance of project analyses, preparing plans, and developing innovative solutions to project challenges. The selected candidate will have experience and demonstrated success in working with large program private sector and Fortune 500 clients.


JOB DUTIES:

Serve as primary point of contact for key private sector clients to deliver quality, unparalleled responsiveness, and lead in market competitiveness.

Provide industry-leading knowledge and prominence to ATKINS’ projects and initiatives.

Identify and support business development activities and proposal development.

Provide QA/QC functions and provide discipline specific advice for complex projects to drive innovation through creative problem solving.

Identify and support business development activities and proposal development.

Function as a project lead and mentor to project teams.

Prepare project work plans, develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets.

Direct project team compliance with contract terms, schedule, budget and quality objectives.

Monitor schedules, financial status of projects and quality control on projects.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred. This position requires a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience.

The candidate considered for this position is required to have a background in mechanical engineering.


PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS:

P.E. license is required. PMP a plus.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Demonstrated experience in supporting business development activities and defining new markets and services, strong existing client relationships a plus. Emphasis on private sector market growth in the South Florida market and beyond.

Experience working with Fortune 500 clients preferred, not required.

Experience supervising and directing multidiscipline teams with staff of varying experience.

Experience and demonstrated success as primary client contact for large program clients.

Familiarity with a wide variety of project and client types.

Industrial experience preferred, not required.
