As a provider of multi-disciplinary technical services to the building environment, SNC Lavalin's Atkins business is committed to design excellence in the delivery of first class solutions which combine innovation, imagination and best practice. The local market is becoming more competitive, with lower barriers to entry for local consultants. With this in mind we are enhancing our external sales teams with a particular focus on the regional markets of UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

Responsibilities

Key areas of responsibility involve sales and technical delivery, management of win-work processes, and working with colleagues across the division to support or lead pursuits, bids and the technical delivery of projects.

The Client Sales Aviation Consultant will also be engaging key clients, working with the T&I team to identify, develop and take to market innovative propositions driving sales excellence across the division. They seek out and create new business opportunities which may include finding new clients for existing applications of Atkins services and broadening our offering to existing clients.

Drive technical sales across markets, achieving revenue and margin targets by:

Formulate key account plans identifying opportunities for new service penetration
  • Scan the market for new opportunities, engaging potential clients and developing relationships that can be built over time, in co-ordination with business development colleagues
  • Oversee the bidding process for new opportunities, when assigned, in addition to running bid support processes and pipeline maintenance
  • Use contacts to identify partners to create a winning team for key opportunities
  • Engage with technical teams in the delivery of projects, identifying additional complementary services
  • Develop innovative propositions through effective collaboration with the technical and delivery teams
  • Leverage Atkins cross-functional services for new business opportunities within key clients and new clients
  • Manage the pursuit process for opportunities (including contribution to pipeline where appropriate)
  • Ensure the messages and learnings from client feedback are shared and acted upon to help increase opportunity conversion and client satisfaction
  • Frequent travel is required for this position to ensure appropriate services are provided across the GCC
 


The Individual

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree or equivalent technical qualification, preferably professionally qualified
  • Arabic speaking is essential
  • Aviation experience would be advantageous
  • Able to demonstrate experience of building effective networks both internally and external to the organisation
  • Able to make significant contributions to technical sales strategy
  • Proven excellence in client relationship management. Builds lasting and durable strategic relationships with the client, adding significant value to their agenda
  • Competitive, highly motivated and ambitious for the success of the team and company
  • Proactive, goal oriented individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and negotiation skills
  • Financially competent, understanding the market rate for professional services in different sectors and geographies
  • Excellent team player, able to influence technical and delivery staff and collaborate effectively with other divisional colleagues

Requirements

 

Strong technical delivery, sales, client and local market experience

  • Able to demonstrate experience of building effective networks both internally and external to the organisation
  • Able to demonstrate experience of developing strategic relationships with clients and creating significant value aligned with the client’s agenda
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement
  • Strong presenting, negotiating and influencing skills- someone who deals easily with local cultural diversity
  • A natural team player, resourceful, articulate and clear communicator who can influence others with sound judgement and good sense
  • Someone who consistently achieves and often exceeds their targets
  • Familiar with sales tools and processes to plan major pursuits and sales campaigns
