We have an exciting new role guiding and shaping the commercial success of the UK and Europe (UK&E) region and the wider EDPM Sector. A member of the Operational Leadership Team (OLT) reporting to the UK&E CEO with a dotted line to the EDPM President, you will also be a meaningful member of the Sector’s senior leadership team.

This role is vital to the ongoing growth of the UK&E business and EDPM Sector. There are two key aspects of the role:
1. Provide strategic direction and leadership to all commercial aspects of our £2 billion business. Improve business performance by developing, influencing and driving the commercial growth strategy, implementing plans and policies to accomplish this.
2. Build the business’s position in the market through a reputation for excellence through understanding the market, influencing our commercial processes and procedures to ensure efficient compliance and frictionless operation against budgets and plans.
You will also have responsibility for the overall direction of the UK&E business’s risk management function.

Key Objectives
The Commercial Director will:
• Drive commercial focus, rigour and best practice
• Support the re-shaping of our commercial business models to reflect our future strategy and drive growth
• Guide, support and challenge commercial directors on commercial issues, leading on highly complex or material commercial issues
• Interpret, set and communicate the governance requirements for project approvals
• Participate in stage gate reviews of material opportunities, and periodic reviews of major projects
• Be responsible for the risk management process, ensuring it leads to meaningful debate and mitigations
• Own the supplier management process for EDPM
• Ensure strong functional interfaces within UK&E, EDPM and the wider SNC-Lavalin Group

Success in this role will be measured as follows:
• Growth in sector and regional revenue to support forecasted EPS growth
• Development of and migration to new financial models that move away from traditional time/materials operations
• Seamless integration with SNC-Lavalin commercial processes
• Ensuring robust compliance and adherence to Group Standard Operating Policies

Responsibilities:
At an EDPM sector level, we will require you to:
• Work closely with the Business Transformation Director, Regional CEOs and functional heads to ensure integration with Company processes, policies and practices is completed quickly and effectively
• Lead the EDPM Commercial Forum to drive consistency and quality of commercial support across the sector
• Create a clear Risk Management plan for EDPM aligning directly with Group requirements
• Ensure improved data handling and security processes and culture is embedded within the business through leadership of the Data Security and Management Plan
• Acting as the globally aware guiding mind on all commercial matters of interest to the sector, advising the Sector President and OLT accordingly.

At EDPM UK&E level, you will:
• Participate on the OLT; acting as a bridge to commercial delivery teams, liaising with Divisional Commercial, Market and Practice Directors
• Leadership of all commercial review processes and practice
• Develop new commercial models and pricing strategies in line with our strategic growth plans

Requirements:
• Expert contractual and commercial knowledge and negotiation skills in pre- and post-contract environments, dedicated to remaining up to date with current practices.
• A track record in a client-facing, senior commercial management role, ideally in a related industry
• A credible business leader with track record of influencing senior partners and building positive relationships
• Able to build followership and align colleagues to a clear and common goal
• Delivering strategic cross business unit initiatives, developing and implementing commercial strategies
• Demonstrable results in procuring large value contracts across different sectors and geographies
• Experience of claims preparation and dispute resolution
• Detailed understanding of a variety of pricing and procurement models
