This is an exciting opportunity to be part of managing and improving one of the busiest motorways in Europe, the M25, its key arterial link roads serving central London and surrounding area, and the A282 (Dartford Crossing).

Balfour Beatty are part of a consortium including Atkins and Egis Road Operations  UK – creating Connect Plus Services, a unique partnership with a collective strength in highways asset care from finance, through to design, build, maintenance as well as day to day operation.

As part of our 30-year remit to manage and improve the capital’s orbital motorway network, we deliver major improvement projects, such widening 38 miles of the M25, refurbishing tunnels and bridges, and installing hundreds of variable messaging signs and gantries, helping to maximise the use of the network and deliver more reliable journeys. We also manage the Dartford River crossing, and operate and maintain 440 kilometres of motorway providing our customer and road user with a world-class highway service.



To support the Communications & Stakeholder Manager in all aspects of communication.

To facilitate the delivery of timely, aligned and effective communications internally and externally, identifying and exploiting opportunities to enhance reputation of the business, its partners and clients, maximise employee engagement and support business growth.

 

·         Responsible for scoping, delivering and reporting on the Connect Plus Services elements of the Connect Plus DBFO Communications Plan. Inter alia annual review, contractual obligations and alignment to internal processes and procedures including the production of a monthly report

·         Manage a robust, effective deployment and management of communications and stakeholder processes on a day-to-day basis

·         Create engaging copy that is multi-audience relevant in line with style guide and brand guidelines

·         Management and delivery of the Connect Plus Services Schemes function, including AMFP and Renewals/Improvements in line with Client and contractual requirements:

o    Research of schemes with project managers

o    Identify opportunities for photography/videography

o    Scheme Communications Plans

o    Stakeholder liaison and communications, including newsletters, events, exhibitions and correspondence as relevant

o    Resident and business notifications

o    Community and corporate/social responsibility initiatives

o    Internal database including stakeholder updates

·         Strategic and tactical support of the Connect Plus Services communications function, across existing channels enabling targeted, aligned, timely and effective delivery of messages including:

o    Business alerts and updates

o    News stories, internal and core campaigns

o    Staff surveys, including analysis of results and creation and implementation of action plans

·         Ownership of/input to Stakeholder Database, working with the business to identify opportunities for improvement, ensuring compliance according to contract and provision of support as required

·         Provision of communications support and guidance to the Connect Plus Services business including:

o    Influence style and content in line with audience requirements and best practice

o    Provide tools and framework to empower the business to communicate effectively

o    Identify and maximise opportunities for PR and news

o    Provide support on media and issues/activities

o    Provide support to high profile initiatives and VIP visits

o    Provide support including daily media monitoring, reporting and evaluation

o    Provide incident management support including debriefs and action plans

·         Establish, manage and maintain effective and appropriate network of contacts throughout Connect Plus Services, Connect Plus, JV Partners and Client including communications teams, to:

o    Identify and share best practice, new initiatives and policies

o    Identify and maximise news and PR opportunities

o    Capture relevant information for cascading internally

·         Support compliance with and adherence to the Connect Plus Services branding guidelines

·         Support compliance with and adherence to Highways England visual identity guidelines

·         Attendance of internal and external meetings as required to deliver the role
