Compliance Adviser

Reporting to the Group Compliance Legal Advisor, the Compliance Adviser will assist with the administration and implementation of SNC-Lavalin’s Business Partner Compliance initiative, a key component of our Ethics and Compliance program, and will support our system users.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support to business units on usage of the Business Partner Compliance Due Diligence Tool (BPC -Tool).

• Act as system admin of  the BPC-Tool.

• Identify improvement requirements for BPC-Tool updates.

• Support with the qualitative reviews of the data entered in risk assessments as well as due diligences to ensure accuracy, consistency and completeness.

• Responsible for day to day queries in the Group Compliance inbox and responding to PRCT alerts.

• Completing due diligence checks through the use of Dow Jones/Factiva, DDIQ software, media and news searches.

• Analyzing and reviewing results to prepare internal due diligence reports and advise on the overall risk assessment for projects

• Assist with Group Compliance administration tasks including:

• Internal filing of due diligence checks;

• Maintaining the due diligence database; and

• Maintaining the Group Compliance worksheet which includes a thorough record of all reports completed (internal and external)

Requirements:

• Graduate level in a relevant field (law, business, or any other).

• A minimum of 3 years of work experience.

• Knowledge and experience with compliance related concepts and due diligence, such as UK Bribery Act 2010, FCPA, Sanctions, Risks associated with operating in foreign territories, sectors and business partnerships.

• Proficiency with the MS Office suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines on day to day compliance matters.

• Self-motivated, proactive and at ease working independently on multiple priorities and timelines.

• Ability to demonstrate independent reasoning, critical thinking and decision making skills.

• Takes the initiative – asks questions, assesses risk, conducts further research and uses careful judgement to come to considered conclusions.

• Works well in a team – demonstrates enthusiasm and willingly provides support to others in the team.
