SNC-Lavalin’s Atkins business seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Tampa, FL Office as a Corporate Tax Intern.

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Under the direction of tax management, completes assigned tax compliance requirements of the firm.

JOB DUTIES

Analyzes and completes the sales and use, property and various other transaction tax returns.
Assists with the preparation of state and local income tax returns.
Gathers information and assists with the preparation of apportionment schedules.
Corresponds with various governing agencies to resolve transaction tax compliance issues.
Assists with tax accrual and expense account reconciliations.
Researches tax law for taxability of transactions and compliance requirements.
Assists in gathering information for various audits.
Partners with internal corporate and field departments in completion of tax compliance and reporting.
Assists with other projects or returns as needed.
Performs such assignments and duties as the Supervisor may deem necessary from time to time.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school level courses in math may be required. No experience is generally required with the applicable high school courses or equivalent training, or if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in Accounting or Finance.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn. Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
