The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is witnessing an increasing investment in social infrastructure including provision of large-scale mixed-use development. Faithful+Gould is positioned to play an important role in providing technical solutions to many of the opportunities presented by this development programme.
As a result, we are currently looking to recruit an experienced Cost Manager to provide professional advice, from pre-concept to completion of construction documentation and tendering package, for a significant mixed-use development project based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Responsibilities

Report to the Project Manager and the client on a regular basis on the cost plan and obtain authority from the client for any decisions/instructions

Interface with other disciplines and the clients’ representative

Ensure the quality and timeliness of cost management advice

Ensure that contractual deliverables pertaining to cost and quantities are produced and issued on time and in compliance with the clients requirements

Ensure adherence to the procedures described in the project management manual

Contribute to a positive and proactive approach that drives the whole of the team

Advise on procurement options and forms of contract

Requirements

Degree Qualified and preferably chartered.

Minimum of 15 years post qualification experience.

A minimum of 5 years experience managing and advising on costs for major projects (i.e. PFI)

Experience of advising on the management of a Clients budget
-
Be experienced in recommending cost beneficial solutions

Experience of chairing value engineering discussions with clients and key stakeholders

Experience working in a similar role in the Middle East would be highly beneficial.

Ability to relate to and interact successfully with a multi-cultural workforce at all levels, is essential.

Must have outstanding communication skills in written and spoken English and be capable of representing the company on commercial issues with the client.

Familiarity with the FIDIC forms of contracts would be beneficial

Keen eye for detail with the ability to challenge and debate in difficult and challenging circumstances.

Must be able to work both independently with a proactive approach and collaboratively as part of a team.

Should be able to demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Experience of large construction projects (ideally mixed-use).
