Creative Lead - Marketing & Communications

Atkins is looking to recruit a Creative Lead to manage and support a variety of design projects across our UK & European Transportation division. The candidate will work at a senior level and demonstrate cross discipline creativity, including digital design, development, 3D visualisation and virtual reality.

As a Creative Lead, you will need to creatively challenge ideas, innovate, implement and enhance processes, work strategically develop systems and utilise your own experiences to improve business outcomes, plus you will also need to develop and work with other team members and groups to promote a positive working culture. The role will be crucial in creating advocates for winning work by producing outcomes that clients love and developing relationships that last.

The role will report to the Director of Marketing Communications and you will also manage workloads to ensure projects are delivered on time, to a high standard, resourced effectively and more importantly working collaboratively to create design that has purpose and value. You will enthusiastically promote progressive design thinking that is proactive and innovative, whilst applying a strategic vision to projects and the creative business – considering variables including customer experience, commercial impact, processes and the whole team.
 
To qualify you should be a creative thinker who knows the technical ins-and-outs. You should be comfortable talking with clients, understanding their ideas and then bringing them to life.
 
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a creative strategy across Transportation to ensure all campaigns are at a high level and push the boundaries with regards to technology and innovation adding value to Atkins and our clients
  • Provide a senior creative service to the division, whilst managing design resource across all projects to promote best design practices, this will mean procuring work from our in-house and external design agencies on a business needs basis, utilising designer’s and developers with the right level of experience and specialist skills to deliver our projects
  • Assess and deliver creative service to the Marketing and Communications team and business stakeholders, managing the budget for design work across the division
  • Overview of all briefing and scoping documents to ensure constant evolution of our innovative and creative offering
  • Have an awareness of all mixed discipline creative projects and be able provide support at any point to give creative guidance and hands on input where necessary
  • Communicate with new and existing clients to maintain a high standard of design and technical support for the division, showcasing creative solutions to our stakeholders
  • Challenge internal stakeholders to ensure campaigns, bids and materials are market leading and really sell the value of Atkins’ offering
  • Attend high profile internal and external meetings representing the division, working closely alongside Transportations’ Operational Leadership Team
  • Integral part of the Marketing Communications management team


Skills & Criteria
  • Previous experience working on large scale mixed discipline projects
  • Confident communicator, particularly with clients and colleagues when pitching, winning new work and leading projects
  • A passion for design and digital technology with an outstanding eye for detail
  • Strong depth of knowledge across different platforms
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task across projects
  • A commitment to high-quality work and perfecting details
  • Ability to build excellent client relationships through thought leadership, outstanding creativity and reactive problem solving
  • Experience of working in a professional environment
  • A creative designer who is unafraid to challenge – happy with day-to-day tasks but always looking for ways to add value
  • Passionate, driven and wanting to invest in Transportations’ vision
  • Strong layout & typography skills 
  • Storyboarding experience
  • An in-depth knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • After Effects experience
  • Experience of organising professional film shoots
