We are currently recruiting for a Safety and Asset Management Degree Apprentice to join the Bristol.

For this position we are recruiting in to the following business area – Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology (ADS&T)

What you’ll be doing:

Apprentices will work within the safety and asset management team, join us and you can expect to be involved in a variety of projects to:

• Support engineers creating ground breaking designs for all kinds of projects
• Supporting client meetings and assisting in building relationships 
• Shaping the future of the digital world
• Data analytics
• Enhancing digital tools and techniques to meet market demands

What is Asset and Analytical Engineering?

Applied throughout the lifecycle, Asset and Analytical Engineering is a consistent, systematic and iterative process, used to maximise equipment availability at optimal whole life cost.   Asset Engineering is focussed on influencing equipment design for support, such as, maintenance access, use of existing tools/test equipment and facilities. Analytical Engineering is digitising and utilising complex data to support effective decision making.

What is Resilience Critical Systems Engineering?

Resilience is the capability of systems, equipment and infrastructure to protect against safety, environmental and security/cyber threats throughout its lifecycle.  We analyse, assess and develop requirements to mitigate against these threats, providing assurance to our clients.  A critical system is any system whose 'failure' could threaten human life, the system's environment or the existence of the organisation which operates the system.

During your 5 year apprenticeship, no two days will be the same as you study and work with a variety of teams whilst developing the skills you need to enjoy a great future at Atkins. Spending either one day a week at the college or doing block weeks, you’ll study towards a Level 6 qualification, degree apprenticeship in Aerospace / mechanical engineering and manufacturing. The course will provide you with the foundations to work within the ADS&T business whilst you gain your expertise and knowledge within the safety and asset management team. Not only will you learn in the classroom, you’ll enjoy being part of the team as you will get involved with all kinds of projects and learn something new every day.

Who we’re looking for

Enthusiastic, inclusive and committed, you should be curious about the world around you and always want to learn more. To really succeed in the role, you will need to demonstrate that you have:

• 5 GCSEs including a B/6 in Mathematics and a C/5 in English Language
• 120 UCAS Points (Not including General Studies, with one subject ideally being STEM related)
• The ability to work in a team, assisting with the planning, design and smooth running of a variety of projects
• Creativity and strong communication skills
• Vision, inclusive and the drive to keep on learning
• To be reliable, practical and self-motivated
• To Work across different locations on a variety of projects, constantly developing your skills and experience

Initial closing date: Tuesday 29th January NB: Some of our programmes are incredibly popular so to avoid disappointment (where some roles may close earlier) please make your application as soon as possible. Assessment centre dates: Dependent on location, assessment centres will be held from December 2018 onwards.
