We are currently recruiting for a Aerospace (manufacturing) apprentice to join the Bristol office.

For this position we are recruiting in to the following business area – Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology (ADS&T)

What you’ll be doing:

Apprentices will work with a variety of teams, join us and you can expect to be involved in a variety of projects covering areas such as:

• Aircraft Engineering
• Systems Engineering
• Submarine design support
• Human factors
• Project Management
• Safety and Supportability
• Supporting client meetings and assisting in building relationships 
• Shaping the future of the digital world

During your 5 year apprenticeship, no two days will be the same as you study and work with a variety of teams whilst developing the skills you need to enjoy a great future at Atkins. You will spend the first year at college full time and Years 2 to 5 will be one day a week at college with four days working in the office. You’ll study towards a level 6 BEng degree qualification, by completing an degree apprenticeship in Aerospace (manufacturing) engineering. Not only will you learn in the classroom, you’ll enjoy being part of the team as you will get involved with all kinds of projects and learn something new every day.

Who we’re looking for

Enthusiastic, inclusive and committed, you should be curious about the world around you and always want to learn more. To really succeed in the role, you will need to demonstrate that you have:

• At least 5 GCSEs including a B/6 in Mathematics, B/6 in Physics (triple science) and a C/4 in English Language
• 120 UCAS points from 3 A levels (one A level has to be within Maths at grade C or above and ideally the other A levels will be STEM related)
• The ability to work in a team, assisting with the planning, design and smooth running of a variety of projects
• Creativity and strong communication skills
• A forward-thinking mind and the drive to keep on learning and developing your skills and experience
• Reliable, practical and self-motivated qualities
• The ability to work across different locations on a variety of projects

Initial closing date: Friday 30th November NB: Some of our programmes are incredibly popular so to avoid disappointment (where some roles may close earlier) please make your application as soon as possible. Assessment centre dates: Dependent on location, assessment centres will be held from December 2018 onwards.
