SNC-Lavalin’s Atkins business seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Atlanta, Georgia as a Deputy Program Controls Director.

 

 

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Provides accounting related control of a significant project or program, including budgeting, financial analysis and reporting, systems management, contract compliance, and billing/invoicing/accounts payable coordination and review.

 

JOB DUTIES

  • Manages and oversees program controls team for design and construction projects. Responsible for overseeing the project planning, scheduling, cost estimating and monitoring of projects.
  • Manages program controls personnel including cost analyst, schedulers, estimators and document control professionals.
  • Establishes and updates operating policies to increase efficiency and mitigate risk.
  • Provides guidance and consultation for Project Managers and Construction Managers. Reports to the Program Controls Director.
  • Ensures projects are executed in accordance with contractual requirements, Program Management Plan and
  • Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Analyzes variances in cost and schedule performance against the plan, and communicates the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans to Project Management.
  • Supervises the implementation of Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures for control and integrity of work to be performed as defined by the contract.
  • Provides regular, timely updates on project status to senior leadership.
  • Experience implementing program controls dashboards is preferred.
  • Experience implementing PMIS systems is preferred



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree with major in Accounting, Finance or related field. Minimum seven years experience in financial and administrative work with at least five years in a supervisory capacity with budget responsibility.

SPECIAL SKILLS

  • Knowledge of e-Builder or other PMIS System
  • Experience working on a program controls team
  • Experience working on a capital program
  • Experience working in the construction industry
  • Excellent team leadership skills, oral / written communication skills, facilitation skills and business acumen.
  • Experience leading a group of estimators, schedulers and cost engineers

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS

  • PMP Certification and/or PMBOK knowledge preferred

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
  • 8 years of project management, project scheduling and cost management experience.
  • Ability to manage a team of estimators, schedulers and cost analysts
