SNC-Lavalin Atkins business seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Engineering Team in Riverdale Park, MD as a Design Services During Construction (DSDC)/ Document Coordinator


MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Manages and facilitates the flow of information between the construction contractor and engineering design team for review of submittals and shop drawings, requests for information (RFI), design changes and as-built drawings.


JOB DUTIES

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for Submittals and RFIs
• Perform and support client-facing roles and functions
• Review drawing and specs based on non-Technical Compliance project standards.
• Assist Engineers to gather and prepare data for submittals, RFIs, and Change Documents from the client, and internal use
• Assist in the maintenance of basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including weekly reports, monthly reports, submittals, RFIs, and Change Documents
• Assist in generating As-Built review orders to be reviewed by the Engineer.
• Manage the Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS)
• Upload deliverables to contractor’s EDMS. (TraceCloud and Coreworx)
• Monitor registers generated in contractor’s systems and assure that they are complete and accurate.
• Issue RFI/Submittals/requests for design changes for internal and external review.
• Management and maintenance of the master “Released for Construction” documents.
• Ensure reviewed work request have been approved and sent to contractor.
• Ensures non-Technical Compliance with Procedures
• Implementation of Doc Control Management Tool EDMS (newforma).


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in a construction-related field of engineering or equivalent experience and education with 3 plus years’ experience in project or field engineering.
  • Must have civil construction experience with preference in Infrastructure/Heavy Civil experience. 

SPECIAL SKILLS
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies. 
  • Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing technical writing, and communication skills.
