Development Team Lead

We are looking for a talented multi-skilled team lead with a background in cross platform software development who is passionate about new technology and the buzz of a dynamic, fast-paced working environment. They must have extensive experience of managing digital projects and development teams, and be easily adaptable to different project management methodologies including Agile and Scrum. Agency experience would be a big plus.

Our in-house Creative Design team, based in key locations throughout the UK, consists of 50+ talented designers, developers and visualisers who provide a professional visual communication service to its 18,000 employees throughout the UK and worldwide.

The ideal candidate should possess superior organisational and project management skills. They will be able to work with designers and developers to translate creative user interfaces into functional and well-built solutions. The candidate should be constantly be looking to innovate by being a natural problem solver with a passion for new technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Managing project budgets and time estimates
• Leading development team meetings, scrum calls and progress updates
• Reporting status of project delivery and budgets
• Planning and reporting the resourcing of the team and projects
• Ensuring high-quality team delivery to tight timescales
• Helping to concept small and large scale digital initiatives
• You will be client facing so confidence is key
• Liaise with clients to scope appropriate software solutions
• Provide ongoing support to clients throughout development and after delivery
• Ensure all deliverables are fully tested and evaluated
• Working with the technical leads to develop new ideas for clients
• Use a high degree of technical & professional judgement to resolve design & technical challenges

Required experience:

• An extensive level of experience of working in a similar role
• Solid understanding of modern web development principles & best practices
• Experience in Agile methodologies
• Excellent attention to detail with technical and creative principles
• Up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
• Ability to motivate and mentor developers
• Scheduling multiple concurrent work streams
• Line management experience
• Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to work within a team
• The ability to work under pressure, multi-task and have proven success in meeting tight deadlines

Desirable:
• Experience of technically leading software development projects
• Strong experience in a web or mobile development role
• Agency experience
