Device Services Engineer

The Device & Print Services team is located within the Technical Services sector of Atkins Group IS. They are Subject Matter Experts with a customer focus, delivering Global IS solutions to benefit Atkins towards and beyond 2020. The aim of the team is to provide the Atkins users with the best possible seamless user experience across all devices and platforms anywhere any time. Primarily focusing on the end user experience and troubleshooting a wide range of software application and automated solutions.

The team have strong relationships in all Atkins regions and act as a conduit into Device and Application services. In addition to the customer engagement role the team also has responsibility for ensuring that Group IS are procuring the correct endpoint devices: Desktop PC, Laptops, Tablets, Smartphones and peripheral devices which may be used in the Atkins computing Environment (ACE). When selecting hardware, the drive is to select hardware that meets the future needs of Atkins while delivering value.

Responsibilities will include:

• Hardware benchmarking
• Testing and evaluating new technology and engagement with IT solution providers when necessary
• Working with the business to provide bespoke hardware solutions that are not currently available in our service catalogue ensuring best value and investment recovery
• Operational support of Mobile Device Management tool (Microsoft Intune)
• Operational Support of Blancco disc erasure solution
• Operational support of Office 365
•  Exhibit a flexible approach to working as it will be necessary to provide support to users globally
• Break fix – team will provide support and guidance to Global Services in resolving technical issues impacting the desktop environment – working with other teams in Technical Services when needed
•  Production and maintenance of documentation that supports services supplied the Device and Print Services Team
• Management of all incidents and requests assigned to queue in Service Now
• ·Provide management information when requested to support operational decisions.

Technical Specialities

Successful candidates should be experienced in providing IT services to large enterprises and can demonstrate thorough technical knowledge and understanding, they will also have a broad understanding and interest in wider areas of technology. Technical specialities should include the following: 

• Microsoft Windows desktop platforms – Windows 7/10
• Microsoft InTune
• Office 365 (OneDrive, OneNote, Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc)
• Extensive knowledge of client hardware (laptop, desktop, workstation, mobile).
• Desktop application and patch delivery through SCCM
• Knowledge of Blancco solution
• Proven support skills
• Well organised and competent time keeper
• Strong documentation skills

• Team player and self-motivator
• Excellent communication skills at any organisational level
• Microsoft certification preferable
• ITIL foundation certificate preferable 
• Understanding the business needs of customers and designing solutions which meet those requirements
