Digital Information Manager

The Digital Information Manager is responsible for proactively leading and developing policies and strategies within the areas of digital design, building information modeling, and design technology. He or she will lead and develop the utilization and implementation of Atkins technology best practices, and champion the integration of BIM, authoring tools and computational design. Model complex systems and geometry, technology configuration, customization via scripting, and training both groups and individuals

 

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with Atkins delivery and BIM standards throughout all projects
  • Adapts and adjusts the strategy related to information quality and process to support the BIM implementation
  • Develops and leads the team of BIM experts within the studios and across the organization
  • Advances and strengthens relationships with office and studio leaders by improving communication and transparency, and involvement with contract administration and project start up
  • Renews and reviews the optimal BIM related software continuously and develops business cases for new investments
  • Creates modeling protocols that allow for export of Revit content to analysis and visualization software and other BIM software
  • Oversees coordination and management of BIM models within a multi-person team
  • Establishes specific BIM service propositions to meet market needs
  • Engages with clients and with Atkins teams to help combine a delivery mind-set with a commercial mind-set
  • Organizes information and training sessions related to BIM processes, and offers guidance to staff and management regarding training needs
  • Develops learning material, delivers effective training and provides ongoing education and support to Revit project teams

 

Atkins has been established in the Gulf for over 40 years, having first carried out design and supervision commissions in the Gulf area in 1967. The regional head office (Dubai) was established in 1979.

 

We provide a full range of design, engineering and project management services for buildings, transportation and other infrastructure programmes.

 

Atkins in the Middle East now employs around 2,000 staff serving Gulf clients across all market sectors from offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Kuwait City, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, and Sharjah.



Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, IT or equivalent
  • 6+ years (production) experience in Design and BIM
  • Experience with design visualization applications such as AutoDesk 360 (Cloud Rendering), 3 Studio Max (and Mental Ray and VRay), Rhino, Sketch Up, FormIt
  • Experience with computational design applications such as Dynamo and Grasshopper
  • Experience with analysis tool applications such as Sefaira, DIVA, IES-VE
  • Uses collaboration, standards-checking, and clash detection tools for viewing and coordinating BIM (Newforma, BIM360 Docs, ProjectWise, Solibri, Navisworks)
  • Experience with legacy CAD applications and practices
  • Works collaboratively with project teams to find solutions advanced modeling, parametric design, visual scripting, data handling and BIM processes
  • Experience with teaching and training in Revit applications, standards and BIM processes
  • Ability to apply design experience for the models produced
  • Ability to establish and coordinate BIM protocols and execution plan for projects
  • Ability to lead, coach and develop others
  • Strong planning and organization skills
