Digital Learning Designer

As a digital learning designer you will conceptualise and produce graphic art and visual materials within the guidelines of the design brief. Effectively communicate information for videos, posters, user guides and interactive media such as web sites, virtual events and self-study eLearning courses.


Please note this role is being offered as a fixed term contract for up to 6 months initially.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify assumptions regarding submitted design briefs in order to fully understand the exact internal customer requirements
  • Consult with internal customers to establish the overall look, graphic elements and content of materials in order to meet their needs
  • Use existing corporate photo and illustration libraries and typography/brand guides
  • Prepare storyboards, layouts and graphic elements of the subjects to be rendered using traditional design tools, multimedia software and image processing, layout and design software
  • Edit video and audio
  • Design and maintain interactive training support sites using SharePoint
  • Create high-quality, first draft digital output in predefined media, in keeping with the theme of pre-approved storyboards and Atkins brand guidelines
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control reviews of all project outputs prior to delivery
  • Share content using internal collaborative tools
  • Manage changes from multiple stakeholders in order to deliver final product
  • Use previously created content to develop templates for efficient reuse

Skills/Experience
  • Simulation design and development using branching and/or game mechanics
  • Online design qualification/s
  • Graphic design qualification/s
  • Extensive experience of developing blended learning, e-learning and mobile learning solutions
  • Experience in a related training role, preferably in a corporate environment
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant training theories, methodologies and techniques
  • Relevant English language qualification at advanced education or degree level (or equivalent)
  • Experience working in a commercial e-learning development environment (preferably involving blended learning and mobile learning solutions)
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong focus on quality control
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly assimilate information
  • Ability to be creative within tight time constraints
  • Strong e-learning authoring skills - proven ability to implement e-learning design principles, especially blending multimedia and graphic elements.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple products and deliver against new product roll out timetables.
  • Working knowledge of e-learning authoring tools including Captivate, Camtasia and Articulate, Flash, Photoshop and HTML v5.0
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong project management skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be comfortable with dealing with customers at all levels
  • Excellent networking and interpersonal skills

Additional Information

Occasional travel will be required as this role will cover all UK offices with occasional support to non-UK locations
