Job Title: Director - Transportation, Asia Pacific
Grade: 16 / M4


Reporting:

This position will report to the CEO Asia Pacific. Also, it will require partnering collaboratively with the various SNCL / EDPM business leaders globally.


Location: Our Asia Pacific regional operations are based in Hong Kong/ Macau with extended project teams operating in Southeast Asia & China.  

This role is based in Hong Kong with reasonable business travel expected within the Asia Pacific region.


Role Overview

The incumbent will play a key role in representing the company externally with clients and leading strategic business development efforts, program management and project delivery initiatives for our Transportation business portfolio. These include and are not limited to commercial, industrial and large government projects across the Asia region. The role to some measure will also involve ensuring that the Transportation business is future ready to respond to the changing market dynamics be it technical skills or technology (digital engineering, automation etc).


A key success factor for this role will be to deliver the Operating Profits for the business. This, by value creation largely through market penetration, win work, stakeholder management and effective management of budgets, Costs, quality, time and resources.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow the Transport Business in Asia to deliver the Operating Profit targets (EBIT)

  • Actively develop and foster major client relationships. Expectation would be to strategically capitalise on any opportunity to establish new and support existing relationships with clients

  • Ensure effective Client management. Especially with respect to relationship management, project management, problem solutioning and seeking new prospects.

  • Ensure successful Project Delivery. Oversee all areas of project budgets, schedules, quality and resource utilization.

  • Establish an advantage by favourably networking with industry leaders / government agencies/ external engineering networks to reinforce the SNCL presence and leverage appropriate opportunities

  • Be an advocate and role model of our corporate values, ethics and governance guidelines.

  • Mentor and provide direction and guidance as an ongoing process to help develop high performing teams

  • Encourage and ensure a positive, diverse and productive work culture that attracts and retains the right talent

  • Drive digital innovation and digital design delivery capability to meet current and future business strategies 

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 20 years’ experience with at least 10 years being present in Asia, engaged in large Transportation / Infrastructure projects.

  • Strong industry networks with good knowledge and experience of the regional market will be a key requirement for this role. Preference would be for a candidate with strong experience and associations in the Hong Kong market (demonstrable).

  • Exposure to a multinational work environment and senior leadership roles in an MNC/Matrix organization with /without a P&L responsibility (CAD 50-100 million or above)

  • Ability to lead large teams and mentor senior leaders towards high performance and success
  • Self- motivated and results driven, with the ability to be flexible and adaptable in one’s approach
  • Strong communication skills
