SNC-Lavalin Atkins business seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Architecture Team in Austin, TX as an Entry-Level Architectural Designer.


MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Under supervision, performs entry-level architectural assignments.


JOB DUTIES
  • Applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of diversified architectural tasks requiring analysis, deductive reasoning, and knowledge of architecture, as obtained through a bachelor's degree program and on-the job training.
  • Performs work which regularly requires analysis and deductive reasoning. 
  • Duties typically involve conventional design and plans to carry out diversified projects or phases of a single project with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. Focus will be on construction documents.
  • Review, respond to, and accept shop drawings, material submittals, and design related questions.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture. Minimal experience is required. 

SPECIAL SKILLS
  • Knowledge of Revit required.
  • Knowledge of architectural practice, building construction, documentation, and detailing.
  • Experience with construction documents is a plus.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop technical writing, computer, and communication skills. 
  • AutoCAD experience is a plus.

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS
  • No professional registration is needed. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • As the successful candidate will be providing services on a federal contract, you must be a US citizen to apply for this position. 
  • In the future, you will be required to pass a federal background check as you may be providing services on a federal contract.
  • Ability to travel is a requirement; open to extended deployment is a plus.
