Atkins seeks an energetic, highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to join our Tampa, FL location as an Entry-Level Structures Engineer.

Major Function/Role:

Under supervision, performs routine engineering work while developing professional proficiency.
Works to learn how to clearly convey the design intent through engineering drawings and specifications.

Job Duties:

Generally applies standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of somewhat diversified tasks requiring the use of analysis, interpretation, and deductive reasoning.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist in the design of steel and/or concrete bridge structures.
Involved in layout, analysis and design of bridges and other structures.
Assist with computation of plan quantities to support the opinion of probable costs.
Assist in plan production.
Commitment to quality work and timely communication.

Education & Experience:

B.S. in Engineering.

M.S./PhD is also required.

Special Skills:

Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing technical writing, and communications skills.
PC and CAD skills required.

Professional Registrations:

E.I. or EIT desired.
