Atkins seeks an energetic, highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to join our Fort Lauderdale, FL staff as an Entry-Level Transportation Engineer. In this role, you will be involved on projects related to highway design, roadway geometrics, plans production, general quantities calculations, and other critical elements associated with highway design.

Job Duties:

Assists in the planning, design, and production of transportation engineering (highway design) drawings.
Participates in conducting engineering investigations and planning work by completing well-defined tasks. These tasks may include collection and analysis of data using established procedures, performance of routine calculations, and participation in evaluating the feasibility of alternate solutions.
Prepares assigned sections of reports working under the close review of a more experienced professional.
Performs data acquisition and analysis, researching the feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and/or regulatory agency specifications or regulations.
Performs engineering calculations.Performs field observations of construction where appropriate

Education and Experience:

B.S. in Engineering, with an emphasis on transportation elements (vertical and horizontal alignment design).

Special Skills:

Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing technical writing, and communications skills.
PC skills required
Experience in CADD (Microstation and/or AutoCADD) is desirable

Professional Registration:

E.I. or EIT desired
