SNC-Lavalin Atkins business seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Atlanta, GA NEPA Transportation Group as an Environmental NEPA Planner.

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

The ideal candidate for this position will apply their NEPA, GEPA, and state and federal regulatory knowledge towards the assessment of transportation projects, along with preparation of or assistance with the preparation of environmental documents (Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments/FONSIs and Environmental Impact Statements).

JOB DUTIES

Evaluation of impacts from transportation and planning projects on the built,
Coordination with design professionals and overall project team to identify op
potential impacts;
Perform field investigations of projects including land use and community res
Gather and analyze data related to indirect and cumulative impacts, environm
Assisting with public involvement and outreach activities;
Preparing NEPA/GEPA documentation for transportation projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning or related field. This level may be achieved by Planners with two years experience since Bachelor's or one year since Master's. Typical degreed incumbent has 4-5 years experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Aptitude for maintaining a professional attitude and attention to detail while working alone and within a team
environment;
Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills with clients and colleagues;
Strong organizational, task and time management, deductive reasoning, and analytical skills;
Proficiency with the MS Office suite of software.
Preference will be given to candidates with similar environmental consultation experience related to transportation or other linear projects including projects with federal funding; experience with GDOT is a plus.
Experience with GIS and Microstation a plus.
