Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Environmental team in
as an E
with 4 to 10 years of experience. Under supervision, applies technical professional proficiency to the investigation of scientific problems and the coordination of related project activities; may be tasked with leading a team for field and environmental assessment / impact evaluations.
Primary focus areas will include wetlands, threatened/endangered species, storm water compliance,
regulatory compliance/due diligence.
Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of
Duties generally include the following:
Conducts site/habitat assessments, monitoring studies or field surveys.
Prepares permit applications, technical reports and sketches.
Analyzes and interprets test results and other data.
Monitors quality control within area of responsibility.
Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
B.S. or B.A. in a field of Science commensurate with hiring discipline.
Good analytical skills and attention to detail; technical writing, computer and communication skills.
Ability to use spreadsheets, word processing programs strongly desired.
Ability to use GIS applications and apply mapping skills a plus.
Ability to process paper/electronic documents and utilize computer equipment; ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; ability to visit project sites if necessary. Job also requires ability to assemble and analyze data. Able to work out in the field under typical Texas weather regimes with some light lifting / carrying related to field equipment or pack.
