Financial Analyst – Baden, Switzerland

In December 2017, ABB and SNC-Lavalin signed an agreement to form a joint venture for the execution of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects for electrical substations. SNC-Lavalin will have majority and controlling interest in the joint venture. By combining ABB’s world-leading technology and its market leadership position in power transmission and distribution with SNC-Lavalin’s strengths and in delivering infrastructure projects, the joint venture will help meet the evolving need of power grids across the globe for safe, reliable and state-of-the-art electrical substations. This role will be part of this new and exciting joint venture.

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager FP&A and Financial Controls, the financial analyst will design, build and prepare different reports and presentations to analyze the results and performance of the company and its various business units, and be involved in the entire financial reporting cycle, including budget, month-end, quarter-end, and quarterly forecasting exercises. The position is for the management of the head office of the joint venture. The job is located in Baden, Switzerland.


Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the country business units to ensure the integrity and reliability of the financial and operating results for both reporting and forecasting purposes
  • Help preparing the month-end management reporting, annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting from a consolidation perspective and summaries and reports for top management review
  • Involvement in the legal and statutory reporting of the Swiss and UK entities
  • Design and develop financial models and reports to improve the forecasting and reporting processes
  • Prepare accurate variance analyses for financial results and cash forecasts and budgeting; review reports with country controllers; 
  • Prepare month-end activities: journal entries, intercompany confirmations, management recharges, cash management and coordination with the regional hubs
  • Participate in the implementation of new financial systems and planning and consolidation system and ensure proper controls are in place
  • Promote positive relationships and clear communications between stakeholders and the team

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of commerce with major in finance or accounting or equivalent
  • Relevant work experience would be an asset 
  • Experience in Big 4 accounting firms, and Swiss CPA are asset.
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken, German and French are an asset
  • Strong business partnering skills 
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Innovation, creativity and project ownership
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Efficient time management
  • Self-motivated, independent and ability to execute
  • Knowledge of SAP and Hyperion are an asset
  • Team player
  • Availability to travel on occasional basis

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary it will be discussed with you at interview.
