On joining the Atkins’ Nuclear business, you’ll be an integral part of a team specializing in taking on the most challenging engineering projects and opportunities from technical leadership to project management. Atkins Nuclear Solutions US is currently seeking a Financial Analyst to join the nuclear team in Oak Ridge, TN.

Job Description

Performs general and project related accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements, such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and project reviews. 

Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles. 

Provides financial support including invoicing, forecasting, and analyzing variations from forecast and budget.

Performs general ledger and project related accounting functions

Prepares, examines or analyzes accounting records, financial statements or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.

Supports external and internal audits and due diligence requirements.

Performs reconciliations and analysis for assigned balance sheet accounts.

Participates in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings.

Assists in preparation of consolidated financial statements for external reporting.

Responsible for moderately complex accounting activities.

Responsible for supporting the various audits as they relate to assigned general ledger and project related accounts.

Responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing internal management reports and helping with ad hoc requests for financial information and reports

Performs other duties as assigned.



Job Requirements & Desired Skills

4 years general accounting experience

Working knowledge of general ledger functions and US GAAP and IFRS Reporting

Advanced proficiency using Excel, including creating pivot tables and other data manipulation techniques

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Strong attention to detail

Working knowledge of accounting systems

Detailed knowledge of revenue recognition principles

Ability to perform complex accounting tasks

Basic JDE skills preferred

Required Experience

4 years general accounting experience

Preferred Experience

5 years general accounting experience

Experience working for the Big Four or public accounting experience

Experience using JDE or Oracle

Education

Bachelor's degree required in accounting

A master's degree in accounting preferred

Certifications

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) candidate or CPA preferred
