Atkins Nuclear Solutions US is currently seeking a Financial Analyst II to join the nuclear team in Oak Ridge, TN.  

JOB SUMMARY


Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts such as balance sheets, payroll journals, and inter-company transaction reviews. 

Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.

JOB DUTIES/TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs general ledger accounting functions.

Prepares, examines and analyzes payroll accounting journals.

Interacts with Payroll Department, HR Department and Accounting Department management.

Performs reconciliations and analysis for assigned balance sheet accounts.

Tracks inter-company transactions and is responsible for inter-company account reconciliations.

Participates in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closings.

Responsible for moderately complex accounting activities.

Responsible for supporting the various audits as they related to assigned general ledger accounts.

Supports external and internal audits and due diligence requirements.

Performs other duties as assigned.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree required in accounting

Minimum of 4 years' general accounting experience

REQUIRED AND DESIRED EXPERIENCE

 

Previous experience in government contracting and familiarity with FAR and CAS a plus.

 

Working knowledge of general ledger functions and US GAAP and IFRS Reporting.

Advanced proficiency using Excel, including creating pivot tables and other data manipulation techniques.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Working knowledge of accounting systems.

Ability to perform complex accounting tasks.

Basic JDE skills preferred.
