This position is part of the SSF’s Accounting team (which comprises 18 members, including four other Financial Controllers).  The role encompasses a range of financial and management accounting activities.  These include general ledger management, capital expenditure accounting/control, inter-company reconciliations and preparation of management accounts, budgets and forecasts for the SSF.  The job involves management of two members of staff (CIMA/ACCA).

In this role you will be responsible for the following:
Preparation/ review of the SSF’s monthly management accounts, annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
Management of the SSF’s balance sheet, including review of general ledger reconciliations.
Management of the UK CAPEX process (approximately £6m annual spend), including review of monthly reports and analyses.
Management of the quarterly inter-company reconciliation and monthly intercompany auto-trading processes (over 75 entities).
Effective management of two members of staff.
Performance appraisals/ reviews/ coaching of direct reports.
Ad hoc projects covering various functions within the SSF.

The Person 
You will have an accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) plus some post qualification experience and being to use Microsoft Excel with ease. 
You will be able to work under pressure inorder to meet deadlines and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
The successful candidate will have effective communication skills, the ability to engage with and influence staff at all levels, and able to mix effectively with team management with ‘hands on’ involvement and ad hoc projects.
