Financial Controllers / Management Accountants 

 

The Transportation UK division in Atkins, now part of the SNC Lavalin Group, brings together the capabilities of our Rail, Highway and Local Transport teams, into a single business of 3,000 talented engineers and professionals. The transportation infrastructure sector is experiencing unprecedented levels of investment and the SNC Lavalin’s Atkins business is playing lead roles in projects such as high-speed rail, digital rail, designing major new road & highways schemes and upgrading our existing transport networks to deliver future demand. Our consultants and supply chain are working with government, local authorities, contractors and sub-suppliers to develop integrated transport strategies to ensure the urban areas we live in continue to thrive.

As part of our continued growth, we are looking to expand the team with several Finance professionals at all levels (mid-senior level).

 

Reporting through to the Finance Director, the finance department works in partnership with the Transportation leadership team and Project Managers, providing business and financial support to staff across key locations in the UK.

 

Key Requirements of the Finance Team

 

Monthly Management Accounts, Annual Budgets and Quarterly Forecasting.

Financial and Commercial analysis supporting the bidding process.

Compliance in connection to a wide range of issues including Group procedures, Government contracts and statutory accounts.

Commercial and financial advice supporting professional staff at all levels of seniority within the organisation.

Undertake monthly project reviews with the project management community

Preparation of ad hoc reports and analysis



Essential criteria

 

Analytical approach to problem solving, and strong decision-making abilities

Excellent communication and presentation skills – be clear concise and relevant in both the verbal and written form

Natural team player – willing to co-operate with others towards the same goals and objectives

Ability to prioritise, plan-ahead and achieve objectives whilst meeting strict deadlines

Confident liaising with and influencing at all levels of the organisation

Able to develop productive internal working relationships with colleagues at all levels

Strong IT skills especially Excel (experience with JD Edwards and Hyperion is an advantage)

 

Qualifications

 

Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or studying towards qualifications
