We are currently seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join the Geotechnical Practice in Atlantic Canada, providing technical and operational leadership, having superior client relations skills and a proven ability to deliver major assignments. Bring your proven geotechnical and project management track record in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland to work for us.

Our geotechnical engineers work closely with other AtkinsRéalis professionals in multiple sectors such as transportation, rail & transit, energy, industrial, cities and development.

Your role within the team:

• Participate on multi-disciplinary teams and projects and collaborate on multidisciplinary projects of all scales.
• Execution of complex and major programs, supporting large proposals.
• Mentoring of junior staff and acting as technical reference.
• Develop and expand our energy and infrastructure geotechnics capability by building on the existing portfolio of our rapidly expanding, flexible and outward looking team that can tackle work across a broad spectrum of sectors.

The ideal candidate:

• Proven experience (approximately 7+ years) in geotechnical engineering with proven exposure in energy, industrial, transport and infrastructure projects in Atlantic Canada/Maritimes.
• A strong academic background with a relevant university degree
• Professional Engineering Designation in either NL, NS, NB, or PEI.
• Proven experience of acting in an intermediate or senior role in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
• Project management - experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients, and work planning.
• Proven geotechnical design experience- application of design standards and guidelines in a design and ground investigation environment.
• Geohazards and geotechnical investigation experience.
• Experienced in general geotechnical numerical software
• Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to support the development of teams.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients.
• Excellent report writing skills with the ability to peer-review and produce quality deliverables.
• A willingness to travel on short assignments both within Nova Scotia and nationwide.

Compensation Range:

Expected compensation for this role is between $80,000 - $120,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, location, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
