Job Summary

• The role of Geospatial Technical Lead is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for the right person to gain experience in managing a team of GIS analysts, Photogrammetry & mapping specialists, 3D Infrastructure modellers and ensuring effective delivery of projects across disciplines.
• The nature of work is inclusive at the minimum but not limited to basic constraints mapping for our environment teams, supporting web GIS, managing large scale data capture projects, photogrammetry, Lidar mapping and 3D infrastructure modelling.
• The role requires allocation of all duties related to the general day to day running of the Geospatial discipline. 
• With the support of the senior staff, should have the ability to instruct, train and monitor the team, to undertake work to the set standards.
• Allocate staff and IT resources to projects in order to meet the project deadlines. 
• Communicate challenges to senior staff and resolve any technical issues that arise. Manage the team in a fair and equitable manner to ensure efficiency.

Key Tasks

• Perform day to day GIS tasks of any level (spatial analysis, data management, digitisation, map creation, etc., as per need basis) for any Client. This includes GIS Analysis team of Global regions offices.
• Ensure the project management of GIS and IM (Information Management) work within the team is carried out effectively
• Assess new technologies and develop new areas of capability. Undertake new and improved technological processes. To appraise and recommend technical products.
• Work independently or part of a team, assess methods required, understand specification’s, carry out various mapping tasks as per the following (exhaustive and expert knowledge not necessary for all tasks)
• Topographic aerial mapping (various scales) – requires stereo acuity
• Terrestrial mapping (various scenes) – requires stereo acuity
• Digital terrain models
• 3D Modelling of built environment
• 3D data processing and visualisation, including fly through and VR
• Orthophoto production
• Digitising of plans
• Computer processing of data to CAD stage
• Project Process and reporting
• Adherence to QA procedures

Collaborative

• Proactively engage with Clients, and demonstrable Leadership experience, collaborative working. Experience of working in a multinational consultancy

Financial

• Working to set budgets and timescales. Able to assess results and draw conclusions/make recommendations. Gain knowledge of department management

Commercial

• Assist in overall business development, including marketing, internal reporting of working statistics, estimating, costing, and support bidding. 
• Conversant with commercial aspects of project/program management

Essential

•  Able to deal and motivate staff and earn loyalty and respect.
•  Able to define and articulate ideas with clarity. 
• Able to prepare Management reports and reporting into the Digital Asset Management Market Director. 
• Arabic speakers will be preferred

• Either a Degree in GIS or Degree in Geomatics or equivalent.
• Technical:
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience. Out of which minimum 5 years’ experience of delivering successful GIS projects and also mapping projects involving photogrammetry, Lidar technology within the Middle East.
