Job Title: Global Supply Chain Manager

Shaping energy solutions to empower sustainable connectivity.


We combine SNC-Lavalin’s project management expertise and ABB’s deep technological knowledge to create a company dedicated to substations – we are Linxon.

Linxon is a joint venture company set up by SNC-Lavalin and ABB to turnkey electrical AC substation projects. Linxon will undertake turnkey electrical alternating current substation projects related to renewable and conventional power generation, power transmission and transportation solutions. Turnkey solutions will include project design, engineering, procurement, construction, management, commissioning and after-sales support.

Mission Statement:

As member of the global operations management team, define the strategic direction of the supply chain function in line with company strategy.
Provide leadership, management and coordination of the supply chain function across the global organization.
Secure sourcing for all external supplies and services required by Linxon for tendering and project execution.
Drive performance to ensure the supply chain provides delivery of products and services on time, with the specified quality at lowest cost.
Initiate and drive continuous improvement activities across teams.

Coordinate with Global Operations Manager and his functional peers in Operations.

Direct reports are functionally all Hub Supply Chain Manager of the Hubs: North America (NAM), Europe, Middle East & Africa (MEA) and Asia Pacific (APAC).
Serve as an escalation point for individual and systemic supply chain related issues within the organization.

Execution:
Supervise the negotiations of large Frame Agreements with large suppliers like ABB
Rationalize the quantity of suppliers to an adequate number (actual basis ~3000 suppliers)
Emphasize to the SCM team that the on-time and quality delivery of equipment is most important
Introduce supplier supervision system beyond FAT; quality inspections
Supervise logistic


Main Accountabilities:
• Knowledge and adherence to the Company’s Code of Conduct.
• Define, jointly with the Global Operations Manager and his Peers in Operations, the target organizational set-up for Supply Chain Function globally and implement accordingly.
• Manage/Lead/Motivate decentralized staff through HUB’s SCMs
• Ensure SCM support for Tendering and Project execution teams
• Optimize leverage and supply synergies between the HUBs (pooling, experience exchange, supplier selection, etc.)
• Consult and support Engineering regarding choice of material and suppliers
• Manage strategic supply and contract negotiations with suppliers in coordination with business management.
• Manage Supplier qualification and audits, including Supplier management and feedback on contract performance.
• Ensure all Linxon supplier are in compliance with the Linxon HSE, Supplier Code of Conduct, ethics and corporate governance and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Determine annual targets for cost reduction, supplier quality, supplier delivery performance (OTD)
• Define and monitor business KPIs and create improvement plans in case of deviations from targets
• Ensure Monthly Progress Reporting Hub and Project level.
• Actively seek feedback from the execution teams (site) and initiate required improvements
• Cost reduction and process improvement related to SCM
• Document, develop and improve Linxon Supply Chain Management processes including Supplier Qualification Process, and Construction Contractor Qualification Process.
• Assure quality in the project deliverables. Cooperate with the Global Quality Manager (contribute to the continuous improvement of the established quality management system).
• Drive development of Supply Chain operational capabilities through training, mentoring, coaching.
• Ensures (in coordination with the Global Operations Manager and HR Manager support) that the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled and directed.
• Represents the “Voice of Supplier” to Linxon, e.g. Sales &Tendering, Engineering, Project Management, Contract management, HSE, Quality.

Challenges:
• Mobilizing the Supply Chain community towards change and bringing more project orientation.
• Reduce actual quantity of suppliers to more realistic supplier base
• Drive Lead Engineer role to cover cost and schedule of engineering deliverables in addition to compliance of the technical solution with the contract.
• Meeting business requirements with redefined delivery models and processes.
• Driving the enforcement of the Engineering Center concept (Engineering Centers in India and Slovakia).

Knowledge, Skills, Experience:
• At least 10 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management and Supplier Development preferably in Power system /substation business within an EPC firm price organization structure.
• Sound knowledge in Supplier & Contract Management, Finance in SCM, Legal Aspects, International Trade rules.
• Sound knowledge of transmission and distribution products (at least up to 400kV) for Substation and Civil Contractors.
• Deep understanding of full life cycle of large and complex turnkey projects involving multiple disciplines, starting from opportunity identification to project close out.
• Good understanding of applications and tools for Supply Chain Management as well as for Project execution.
• Experience in leading a Supplier Development and Quality function
• Strong negotiation skills
• Language: Fluent in English (speak and write); local language is a benefit.
• Experience in dealing with international customers and contractors.
• Proven experience in people management.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good team works.
• Independent working style and capable to provide guidance to team members on technical issues related to the scope of work.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills. Able to work with priorities and identify conflicts.
• Ability to summarize meeting outcomes.
• High attention to detail and focused on quality.
• Pragmatic approach and persistence in continuous development.
